It's the celebration for our fourth annual Gotcha Day for Gracyn Esabella ShaoBin. While going through the adoption process, there are special time lines and events that afford a little PARTYING!! Amongst the waiting, paper collection, story telling, doctor approving, financial disclosure...many small things begin to occur & come together, maybe as simple as a small speck in a normal persons life, but to an adoptive mom and family, it is a LIFELINE!
A few of these treasures that come far a few between in this waiting game, are FINALLY getting every piece of documentation together and sending them to your agency, to send to China = DTC (Dossier To China) STOP & CELEBRATE Next, Log-In-Date or LID, when your paperwork is officially acknowledged by the Chinese Government and your place in line is secured. Finally, Being Matched, rendezvousing with a Fed-Ex driver for the package, & meeting to open the package together, to discover who this child is!
The biggest of moments comes when THE DAY has actually arrived! We commonly call it, "GOTCHA DAY!"
Well, today is Gracyn's GOTCHA DAY, 4 years ago, and is something to be remembered & celebrated! So we give great honor to those still in process, completed &/or those who supported someone through this time!
Today, "Gotcha Day" almost got away from us, without recognizing the significance of this particular day! How can the day a nanny placed my ridden with fear baby into my arms, become anything less that a celebration? It was the first time, our eyes from across the seas, met. It was the first serge of hormone that revved within me that told me I would once again be a mother. It was the tiny hands and feet and jangly body that was passed into our arms in a hurried fashion....And it has been the every experience sense!
HAPPY "GOTCHA DAY" MY BEAUTIFUL PRINCESS, IT ALL BEGAN AT THAT MOMENT, FOREVER, FOR THE BEST!
